National Free Hot Fudge Day Happens This Thursday, December 7, 2023 at All Shoney’s Restaurants Nationwide
America (RestaurantNews.com) Shoney’s will continue to do the unthinkable again this holiday season with its annual National FREE Hot Fudge Cake Day, where valued guests and future fans will be treated to its best-selling dessert, for free with no purchase required this Thursday, December 7, 2023.
The 76-year-young All-American restaurant industry pioneer is continuing its own national holiday by offering an American treasure: its world famous Hot Fudge Cake, featuring vanilla ice cream in the middle of two slices of fudge cake, topped with whipped cream and a cherry, one per guest while supplies last.
Shoney’s serves over 2 million Hot Fudge Cakes each year and for one day a year everyone gets one for free, a goodwill gesture only it could master.
“Shoney’s continues to shine and will keep its annual promise to its loyal fans and new guests to show them our appreciation on this day,” said Mr. David Davoudpour, Shoney’s brand ambassador, Chairman and CEO. “Shoney’s National FREE Hot Fudge Cake Day is their day; we just get to enjoy it with them.”

Shoney’s category leadership, relevance and impact on the industry was captured eloquently and memorably in a column in Columbia, Tennessee’s daily newspaper: Columbia Daily Herald, which focused on, what else, its Hot Fudge Cake. It serves as a retrospective that like the Shoney’s brand itself refuses to get old.
When it opened its doors in 1947, Shoney’s became the epitome of the family dining experience and continues to be recognized for that 76 years later. It is consistently praised for having the best rating for value among all family dining chains while also being hailed for its service, menu variety and diners’ recommendations. Since acquiring the great American eatery in 2007, Mr. Davoudpour has been on a driven and spirited mission to reinvigorate and revitalize Shoney’s, a family-friendly, southern-style restaurant brand while continuing this annual tradition of offering its best dessert to all.
